Ohana PKC-50G Pineapple Concert-scale.  All Solid: Cedar Top & Mahogany Back and Sides

Let’s start with a side by side comparison of a Pineapple shaped uke to a same scale traditional shaped uke. If we filled them with water (and we are not!), poured the water into a measuring vessel to compared one volume to another, I’m not sure we would see a huge difference. Yet the voice of one vs the other, same materials, is notably different, in a good way. The Pineapples voice is little fuller and deeper. Timbre’s not as bright.
For me, it surely is easier to hold than the traditional while playing without a strap. Being a uniquely shaped instrument, all your uke buddies will want to give-it-a-try. If I were going to install a preamp inside a Uke, I would go with the Pineapple! We can do that. L.R. Baggs is our brand. We don’t mess around.

Ohana Pineapple Ukuleles are made with specifically selected tonewood combinations that give them full and rich tonality and sound. Check out these features. This is a very serious ukulele.

Gotta see the photos:

A Rosewood binding was added to the top and back to stiffen the body. It will yield a great volume when played hard but still respond to a light touch. The balance of tone and volume across the fretboard is superb. Definitely more punch than a traditional shaped uke.

The Abalone purfling on the headstock, top, and rosette are matched and its color is intense. The Solid Cedar top is tight grained and offers a hint of quilting. Once this instrument gets the chance to open up it will surely become “your go to uke.” The solid Mahogany back and sides are evenly grained and look amazing under the high gloss finish. The bindings are Rosewood, with Abalone purfling and the fretboard is bordered. Pearly-like fret markers are in the usual places. Silver colored open-gear Grover machines with vintage styled chrome scalloped knobs. Quality machines that do not slip. The headstock is topped with Rosewood which includes the Ohana logo.

A wonderful sounding instrument that is also a looker.
